Titanium is a high biocompatibility metal making it a great option for pups with sensitive skin, particularly those who are allergic to nickel. It is also highly resistant to corrosion, making it suitable to wear in water environments like pools, lakes, or the ocean.
It’s important to note that titanium naturally contains trace amounts of nickel but the strong bond between the two metals makes allergic reactions unlikely. As a result, titanium is still considered a hypoallergenic metal and a preferred option for dogs who have sensitivities to metals.
Symptoms of an allergic reaction may consist of irritation, redness, hair loss, or sores. In the event of an allergic reaction, it is advisable to discontinue use of the product until the symptoms subside and consider switching to one of our comfort pads.
Additionally, your titanium contact points may develop unique coloring such as blue, purple, green, or red due to heat and oxidation, but this natural process poses no harm or risk to your pet.
